§07 · Scope of service
Scope of service
The following work sits outside our scope of service. On a licensed programme, artwork always comes from your side.
-
Retail, single-unit or per-piece purchases
Every design needs its own printing plate and forming setup, so MOQ is counted per artwork design.
-
Creating or preparing artwork
Artwork is prepared and supplied by the brand owner, print-ready. We apply Pantone colour matching to that file.
-
Alcoholic-beverage packaging
Outside SEAL’s scope of service.
-
Cup sealers and other packaging machinery
Outside SEAL’s supply scope. What we supply is the cup and the sealing film.
-
Non-F&B packaging — cosmetics, pharma, supplements, chemicals, household
Our scope is food and beverage only.
§08 · Start
Send us your programme specification
Brand, number of character designs, cup type and size, estimated volume per design, and delivery cities. From that we prepare a quotation and a production schedule.
Include your job title, company, the number of character designs, and delivery cities. The licence does not have to be final at first contact; we can start from the packaging specification.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about licensed character cups
Does SEAL provide the character license?
No. The character license (IP) is arranged by your brand with the license holder. SEAL sits on the production side: we receive print-ready artwork already approved by the license holder, print samples for approval, then run production with Pantone colour matching and food-grade quality control.
What is the MOQ for licensed character cups?
MOQ is 10,000 – 50,000 pcs per design, per SKU, the same as our other custom cups. For IML cups and specialty items the MOQ is 20,000 pcs. On multi-character programmes, volume is counted per artwork design, because every design needs its own printing plate and forming setup.
Are the printing inks food safe?
Yes. We use low-migration food-grade inks on the printed surface, with a PE or PLA coating as the direct food and beverage contact barrier. Our operation is certified to FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and Halal.
How does the licensed artwork approval flow work?
The order is: (1) your brand secures character usage rights from the license holder, (2) your brand prepares and supplies print-ready artwork to the character style guide, already approved by the license holder; creating and preparing artwork sits outside SEAL’s scope of service, (3) SEAL prints a sample from your file with Pantone colour matching for final approval, 7-14 working days, (4) production. License-holder review time is outside our control and is not counted inside our production lead time.
How long does custom character cup production take?
After final artwork approval, production is 14-21 working days. Aluminium cups are 21-30 working days and IML cups 30-45 working days. Printed samples are 7-14 working days and run before production, outside the production lead time.
Which cup types can be character-printed?
Paper cups 8-22oz (single and double wall), PET and PP cups 12-22oz, IML cups 4-16oz for ice cream and yogurt, paper bowls 8-32oz, and aluminium laminated cups 12-22oz. Decoration follows the material: offset and flexo up to 8 colours on paper, screen print up to 4 colours on PET and PP, and full-wrap photographic on IML.
